# Sign up & start free

> Create your Cobalt tenant with 100 free credits — no card required.

# Sign up & start free

Signing up takes a couple of minutes and doesn't ask for a payment method. Every
new tenant starts with **100 free credits** — enough to build an agent, test it,
and put it in front of real employees before you decide anything about billing.

## Create your account

Sign up with **Google**, with **Microsoft**, or with an email address and
password.

* With Google or Microsoft, you're verified immediately.
* With email and password, Cobalt sends a **6-digit verification code** — enter
it (or wait for it to auto-verify from the email link) and you're through. You
can resend the code after a minute.

Use your **work email**. Sign-up is for organizations, so disposable email
domains and sub-addressed variants (`you+tag@…`) are declined.

## Name your workspace

Pick your **company name** and a **workspace URL** (the "slug"):

* The slug becomes your console address — `…/t/your-company` — and your
teammates will see it, so keep it short and recognizable.
* Cobalt checks availability as you type and suggests alternatives if your
  first choice is taken.

If you step away mid-way, your progress is saved — coming back resumes where
you left off.

## Provisioning

Cobalt then provisions your tenant: the workspace, your admin account, and your
starting credits. This usually takes a few seconds; if it's ever slower, you can
close the tab and Cobalt emails you when the workspace is ready. Either way you
land in the admin console as the **first administrator**, ready to
[create your first agent](/get-started/create-your-first-agent).

## What the free credits cover

Credits are only consumed when **real employees talk to your agents on a live
channel** — one credit per answered request. Building, configuring, and testing
in Preview are free, so your 100 credits are all usable for a genuine pilot.
When they run out, agents pause until you add funds — see
[Billing & usage](/operate/billing-and-usage) for how the wallet, top-ups, and
auto-renew work.

<Note>
During periods of high demand, sign-up may operate as a **waitlist** — you
leave your email and we notify you when your workspace can be created.
